Dick's friend, fellow Flying Tiger, and equally accomplished fighter pilot, Captain James Whittaker, USAAC, finds himself going back into the Phillipines to link up with the [I just found out quite real] self-appointed, Bridadier General Wendell Fertig, USFIP.

It is always a treat to see history unfold through Griffin's characters & storytelling ability. Hotshot Marine fighter pilot, Richard Canidy, is pressed into secret service because of his childhood & long friendship with Eric Fulmar whose half-German heritage has given him unique access. The scent of German efforts to build the ultimate weapon release the hounds in pursuit & denial.
