The above photograph is courtesy of The Churchill Society. A section of Hurricanes makes a low pass over another Hurricane. The maintenance crew can not resist the urge to enjoy the moment. Unfortunately, Cap has not figured out how to capture an audio track to complement the photo and allow visitors to experience the glorious, deep, throaty, purr of two 1,000 horsepower Merlin engines passing overhead at full power. You will just have to let your imaginations fill in the gap. The venerable cousin to the vaunted Spitfire provided an exceptional 1-2 punch.

To So Few - The Prelude.
A NOVEL OF Courage by Cap Parlier. Brian Drummond grew up in Wichita, Kansas. He learned to fly with the best. In June 1939, the approaching storm clouds of war in Europe captured his dreams, desires and attention. Abandoning all he had known after he graduated from high school, Brian defied Federal law and left for Canada to join the Royal Air Force. The fine, curvaceous lines of the Supermarine Spitfire and the thoaty tones of its Merlin engine completed his seduction as the Second World War began. Brian became a man as he demonstrated his skills with the best fighter aircraft in the world.
